I haven't got round to the Adele album yet, or the Beyonce and I never liked Sufjan Steven's music until his album last year which I thought was a good departure for him. Of course something needs to have some individuality, I don't disagree about that. But some things just try and be different for the sake of it I feel, and some things are ignored just because they don't sound completely new sounding. As for Radiohead, I would say most really popular bands outlast their welcome. It's very easy to keep catering to the same old audience and never take risks and normally that leads to creative sterility.
