It's fun to try and count what it had some sort of influence on in future sci-fi/fiction works of TV and cinema. I saw the Matrix, V For Vendetta, Buffy and Inception (and I'm sure even more besides) myself...
Spoiler for Spoilers? Should that be my tag? why do I need an effin tag!:
Think the first half of this film was perfect. Really wish they would have stuck to the 'futuristic noir' theme throughout. None of this "Tear away the curtain to reality" nonsense that cheapens up every scifi movie of this type.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God
