1.If you've never been to a summer festival, I will say "go."
2.Washburn make some good quality, inexpensive bass guitars. (I own one and don't regret buying it.)
3.I didn't think I could learn to read music either, but I found it easier to learn than a foreign language. (If that helps your confidence.)
4.It's worth investing some time, money and effort in getting a good quality turntable. (You'll never regret it.)
5.Some of the best places to get quality vinyl at great prices, are at record shows/fairs.
6.Just pick it up and go for it! (You might surprise yourself.)
Can't give any suggestions for 7 & 8. (Sorry.)
