There were only two songs that really stood out for me with the new Alcest album, the first one "Autre Temps" and the sixth one "Faiseurs De Mondes". The latter one really stuck out because as far as I can remember it was the only one that actually had any real noticeable metal influence in both the melody and vocals. Other than that I found it to be a little uninspired, but not totally unsurprising. I'm not the biggest fan of the emerging "Blackgaze" sound, it sounds pleasant enough but it really just doesn't do anything for me. I'll keep the album and revisit it over the year to see if it grows on me at all, but for now I'll have to say that I found it pretty underwhelming.
