Default the mystery mellotron song

I heard this song in a store while shopping today, and I don't know who it's by (which bugs me because I like to know who did it) any help would be greatly appreciated.

The contains a verse that has an acoustic guitar which is somewhat like "Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard" the chorus that has a synth that sounds like a Mellotron back by a cello and after the last chorus it ends with a Country-style solo/lick that has a slightly overdriven Telecaster sound.
The only lyrics I can remember for now is "Is there nothing I can do."
