Morkobot—Morbo
Two basses, a drum kit and some of the best music of 2011 imo. I've heard this Italian instrumental three piece compared to Zu, presumably because of the similar line up and the shared country of origin, but they're really pretty different. Morkobot are heavier, crunchier and much more groove oriented. The interlocking, rhythmic nature of their songs shares a certain similarity Meshuggah or possibly some doom-infused version of Primus, though certainly more experimental and mathy than either of those bands.
