Perhaps Paranoid is more consistent, but the first half of Black Sabbath is one of the greatest achievements in metal or rock. Just brilliant. Oh god, the first song, then the harmonica on "The Wizard", and the freak fest of "Wall of Sleep" that just screams for an acid trip? None better IMO. And how can I not mention the fuzzy evilness of "NIB"? Original version totally ****s on the rerecorded version.
