I was legitimately on a hit list in high school because of a group of juggalos.
They claimed they were "non-conformists" and I "just didn't get it."
I said, "No, nonconformity is a good thing, really. But rejecting mainstream society in order to align yourself with others who reject mainstream society is still...you know...conforming."
There were three lists, and I had the particular distinction of being on the top of all three lists - one of which was the "hatchet and burn" list.
So, I feel like my negative feelings towards that particular group comes from a particularly traumatizing personal experience, and isn't completely unjustified.
