@above: A bad engineer can really mess up a band. Im not sure the size of that venue but if its a smaller one its almost better to not mic anything up and just play straight. That was you guys have full control of the way that you will sound. By the looks of it your gear could easily compete with even a pretty loud drummer. Thats cool you had a good time I think playing on stage makes you progress in your playing far more than playing by yourself or just practicing with people normally.

I always find it funny that within a band the guitarists more times than not play the same guitars. Even in professional bands that have been together for years. I guess if one person finds his sound the other is sure to follow! And a tip, next time talk to the tech before hand about how you would like him to mix your band so you are both on the same page. Just dont come across as telling him how to do his job.
