Not the biggest fan myself, but this album consistently comes up as an essential album to buy from the 80's.

1983 was a fantastic year in general with many genres spewing out great albums.

PUNK- Suicidal Tendencies-Self titled
Black Flag- The first four years
Subhumans [UK]- The day the country died

POP/ROCK- Peter Gabriel- Plays live
Tears for fears- The Hurting
REM-Murmur
Roxy Music- The high road

Alternative- Ministry- With sympathy
Bauhaus- Burning from the inside
Metal?- Slayer- Show no mercy
Metallica- Kill em all
Iron Maiden- Piece of mind
Dio- Holy diver

Stevie Ray Vaughan- Texas Flood

Black Uhuru- Guess whos coming to dinner.

Checked out a few lists and these were memorable to me. Overall a pretty damn good year.
