Ah, that could be it. I belive he's claimed he's done nothing illegal and he should know since he's a judge, but I guess he would say so either way.
Anyways, I definetly believe legality of corporal punishment enables abuse. Coming from a family that doesn't spank and a country where hitting children is illegal and as someone who's worked in a kinder garden, my tolerance for even light spanking is nil, though. I think what may seem trivial to an adult can still be traumatic to a two year old.
