Their sound is quite raw I guess, but it's a contrived rawness, if you get me? They layer these distorted riffs with swathes of feedback, reverb, tape loops and other auditory manipulations to create a sound that, as you rightly discerned, is raw and acidic in places - but also languid and soothing.
There is a heavy 60s psychedelic influence, as well as noise rock, shoegaze, drone and post-rock. They're a kaleidoscope of sounds, which is why they're so great.
You should definitely get hold of Amanita. Turn it up loud, whack on some headphones, and enjoy.
