Just finished The Hunger Games at the insistence of my mother, sisters, father, and a friend who teaches middle school English.
It was all right. I couldn't have cared less about the love story / love triangle bit, because I tend not to give a **** at all about angsty teen romance, but the premise was interesting. It did make me cry once - for those of you who've read it, you'll probably know what I'm talking about when I say I cried when Katniss received the bread - but ultimately it was just okay.
Better writing than most young adult novels. I liked that the protagonists were Appalachian, I guess. I loved Cinna for some reason.
That's about it. If you're interested, it isn't a long read at all; took me around 5 or 6 hours.
