Watched Tarsem Singh's The Fall
It's a fantasy drama where two people in a hospital, a young man and a five year old girl, spin this fantastic tale together about love and revenge. The story follows the drama in the hospital as well as the fantasy story they (mostly him) make up - a bit like Big Fish. The story was touching, engaging, sometimes exciting and 6 year old Catinca Untaru had the most impressive performance. Her role in the movie was largely unscripted. She's just living her role in the film. A joy to watch!
Shooting of the film also took place in more than 20 countries and it's beautiful to watch, a real treat for the eyes. I imagine some could find it just a little slow, but I was in the right mood and felt entertained from start to finish.
Not completely flawless, but obviously a labour of love and well worth checking out for those who think they might like something like this.
