i don't think there was ever any punk element in his music, i think you're confusing him with Iggy Pop, whom he produced
there were some punkish elements in Tin Machine (his supergroup) but this came after the onset of first wave punk

Nah, I'm sure I meant Bowie. I listen to Iggy Pop, it's easy to hear the punk in him. I don't know, maybe I'm just imagining that I heard of several punk groups claiming Bowie as their biggest influence. Whatever. Thanks for the recs, anyway!
