1.) Andrew Wood is just a more entertaining front-man then Eddie Vedder. Vedder is always trying to be some damn serious and
too political.
2.) Andrew Wood plays piano and writes hella' good ballads. Eddie Vedder does not.
3.) Don't like the direction that Pearl Jam went in after the album 'Vs.'.
I don't think MLB would have become some wussy college radio band like PJ did, but would have instead gone in some cool arena rock direction, think Queen or even (probably shouldn't even mention this one) KISS.

The above mentioned song is actually a damn good song, but the rest of their catalogue consists of half-realized alt rock songs with a ton of wannabe Jane's Addiction rip offs and songs that I can honestly only classify as hair metal.

Hair Metal?
Some MLB songs sound like sleaze rock that could have been on the b-side to G' n R's Apetite for Destruction!
Bottom line:
MLB has always been more musically diverse than PJ! They got piano ballads, something PJ doesn't have and they have some good hard-rockers too, whilst PJ just made wussy stuff for college radio after 'Vs.'
