That's a lovely photo, but would you mind resizing it Unknown Soldier?

edit:

I think I've seen just about every major site in the Midwest, however, my favorite is my homestate; South Dakota, which has a population around 800k. However, every summer, tourists outnumber residents by a large number. It has many "Postcard" monuments, which always fascinated me as a child. I always thought it was immenselly cool that my home state had these huge, rustic monuments and that - thousands of years in the future - people would still be looking at them and thinking they're bad ass.
We also had tons of famous historic sites, such as the city of Deadwood (like the HBO show), Laura Ingall Wilder's homestead (little house on the prairie, anyone?), famous wildlife such as Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goats, Buffalo, Rattlesnakes, and Pronghorn Antelope, the fastest land critter in this hemisphere.

Here are some of the coolest things I remember from my childhood:

Mt. Rushmore during 4th of July.

Sturgis motorcycle rally; which is something like half a million people annually.

Badlands National Park; imagine a bunch of small, random canyons and mesa's.

Crazy Horse Monument, which - obviously - is still a work in progress.

The mother****ing Corn Palace; all the murals on the outside are made from corn or other grains grown in South Dakota. Seriously, one of my happiest childhood memories was eating carmel corn at the Corn Palace. ****ing brilliant.

Jewl Cave National Monument; this just happens to be the second longest cave... in the world at over 150 mapped miles.

Not only is South Dakota so cool it has a park named after that Custer, we've Buffalo in the ****er!

^^^ back in my day, you could ride the mother****ing giant tortoises. Words fail to describe just how awesome that was.

Etc. Other cool sites; Minuteman Missile Historic Site, Lake Oahe (4th largest man made lake in the USA).... and that's all I can think of at the moment.
