Marillion - Afraid Of Sunlight
I'm not a huge fan of the (ongoing) Steve Hogarth era of Marillion, but this 1995 seminal work hits all my musical sweet spots whilst making some surprisingly experimental moves for something with a "neo" prog. label attached. Echoes of
Peter Gabriel,
Radiohead and even
Faith No More abound sonically, but this is just as beautiful and interesting as anything legends like them have cut to posterity, and I'm really glad I've gotten into it!
