Yeah, between metal and punk I think Canada has one of the better scenes. I also like the interconnected national community that is shared between many of the artists, sharing venues, opening acts, places to stay while touring, etc. A friend of mine lived in Calgary for a few years and introduced me to a couple of great Canadian punk bands.
Sure it's a little poppy, but the lyrics are great. This isn't really indicative of the band's overall style though, some songs feature more of a bluesy vibe, others more of a fast-paced ska vibe, and even some stoner rock elements, I just haven't been bothered to upload any others.
Then of course no Canadian punk list is complete without mentioning The Smalls, who are just one of my absolute favourite bands. I really wish I was a bit older so I could have seen them before they broke up in 2001, but I'm really holding out hope for a reunion in the future if Corb and Caldwell can get over themselves.
