Default 'L' shaped studio, any design ideas?

Recently some friends and I came across a new space for our studio. We have big dreams of a control room, a live room and vocal and drum booths, and are trying to figure the best way of fitting it all in.
We are currently at the stage of reading anything we can on the subject, and were hoping some seasoned opinions could help us out. So if your opinion is seasoned, or maybe just a bit peppered, any help would be great.
Here's the game; we are in the basement of a barn, the ceilings are just over 9' tall, and we were going to put some laminate on the floor. I attached a floor plan of the space we have to work with.
The rules of the game are that we can build as many walls, diffusers and absorption pads as we want, and the objective is to have a professional looking, and more importantly sounding, space. If anyone is willing to impart some of their knowledge to us by drawing walls and notes on our attached document, we would be most obliged, and would create the best music we possible can in your honour. Thank you music gods!

Sincerely,

Jason McDowell
