Why though? Sell me on Zooropa. I remember when it came out back in the day. We couldn't stop laughing and ridiculing the whole '....llllllLLLLEEEmmmoooonnn!' thing. It sounded like the ultimate shark jumping record, just a bunch of thought provoking rock dudes all of a sudden switching onto the alternative electro thing that was just starting to establish itself in the underground.
What originally set them apart wasn't an avant garde approach to pop music it was the thought provoking nature of their music and the intensity within which they presented it. So why did they feel it necessary to change styles so dramatically?
