All of the sudden?
Zooropa was very much the next logical step from the sound of
Achtung Baby and was in fact written while they were on a break from touring for that album. It's clearly influenced by their collaboration with
Emergency Broadcast Network during the Zoo TV tour, which I think is pretty neat, and is probably the album of theirs on which Brian Eno's presence is most noticeable, no doubt one of the reasons I like it so much. Also, the fact that they didn't seem to be taking themselves super-seriously anymore has always been a big plus for me.
