But seriously, I listen to basically everything that isn't:

1) Gross top-40 pop-rap that doesn't deserved to be called hip-hop,
2) generic modern rock in the vein of Nickleback,
3) anything that starts with "emo" or ends with "core".

Nasty Nas, Guns 'N Roses and associated acts, Miles Davis, Muse, Bill Frisell, Buckethead, Mendelssohn, Messhugah, Hendrix, Skream, ... all good ****. I felt the need to give examples because most people who say they listen to all types of stuff actually listen to nothing and don't know what to say when people ask.

That being said, I would say... either hit me with either their most essential album (the one where I can decide weather to further explore them or not, if there is an album like that) or their most bizarre and abstract one (I love new sounds.)
That's the problem with Swans, there isn't really a clear starting point because they vary so much.

I suppose the closest thing we could get to that is Children Of God...

Here, try these out:

Swans: Sex, God, Sex - YouTube

Beautiful Child - Swans - YouTube

Swans - Blackmail - YouTube

After listening do you want heavier, lighter or more experimental generally?
