I've always been a fan of Every Time I Die, and I think on the new record they've refined their aggression to a T. Their trademark fusion of southern rock and mathcore leads to some incredibly hectic and fun moments, but the album's greatest strengths lie in tracks like Indian Giver and Revival Mode where the band takes a step back to expand their sound into more traditional areas of alt rock and punk. While it may not be their magnum opus, Ex Lives is certainly a very solid release and one of the better albums in their discography.
