I really can't understand this love for Opeth - they've never written a decent song in their entire career; at best, they've songs which are entirely soft/melodic, which gets approval because the majority of people who listen to these songs listen mostly to metal, meaning their largely ignorant of what quality non-metal sounds like.
As far as the schtick they built their career on, the idiotic death metal/acoustic dynamic rape... it's godawful, although I'm glad to see that it's novelty is wearing thin as 'core bands, who make use of the same dynamic rape, are taking this idiocy to its logical conclusion.
Devil Driver may be bad, but at least it's fun; Opeth try to be pretentious, and fail.
