If you're serious about learning the theory behind music I wouldn't recommend asking online, between the amount of misinformation out there and different terminologies you'd be much better off finding a more reliable, consistent source. Also some textbooks tend to oversimplify theory and explain parts of it off as "tricks" focusing too much on the how rather than the why. Either go to college or pick up some of the texts from the greats (Riemann, Schenker, Fux, Schoenberg ect.)
