I think I would still have the same feelings towards each album no matter which order I play them so as long as you were going to listen to them all anyway, it doesn't really matter which order in my view.
I would say that my preference between them would remain the same, but perhaps I'd be more lenient on the lesser album's faults, because of an established fondness for the artist. If I love an artist's work, I make more of an effort to see redeeming factors in their failures, whereas if I established an album as a failure before all else, I'm inclined to continue to be unfair to it.
