Nothing wrong with Alice in Chains. Now if Pearl Jam or STP were in the lead I would agree with your rant. However, they are not.

Pretty much all of AiC's hits were memorable (and let's face it when talking about mainstream that is what mattters. They do have better non-single tracks, but that is another story) and are still played today.

"Would?", "Rooster", "Heaven Beside You", "Nutshell", "We Die Young" and so on....

Personally I voted for Mudhoney.
