Exactly. You can link so many post-Hendrix guitarist back to Hendrix. He's like the missing link. That's a big reason why he's so damn great.
You can listen to so much post-Hendrix music, mainly rock, and just instantly see that the guitar work was heavily inspired by Hendrix. It's even there In jazzy guitarists like Oz Noy. I was just reading a guitar player maginzine interview in which he was saying that he was going for a Hendrix-esque sound on his new album.
