Harvey Milk with their squalls of noise and then sludgy experimental sound reminded instantly of the Melvins, the album was good and shows the potential of the band, but its actually the second album that gets all the plaudits based on the reviews I've been reading, so for that reason we're hearing the band in a develpoment stage on this album. Eyehategod are the weakest of the main three New Orleans sludgy bands Corrosion of Conformity and Crowbar both being better. But the album selected is easily their best work with its swampy sludge sound and I actually don't mind the vocals either.
