I'm suprised there isn't anyone else that has showed interest in this band. They are my all time favorite band on earth!

They aren't even known over here in Aus. I was lucky enough to have been given their albums from a family member who is a huge music fanatic. I grew up to their music and I am always in love with The Jayhawks. It really is a shame that they are not so well known, they have such a great sound and should appeal to anyone who is into country, alt-country, experimental, rock, pop, blues and more....its hard to pin point their genre as their albums are varied between these genres. But it's Gary Louris' vocals that make my heart melt....

I struggle to name a favorite album but I will always heavily rotate Tomorrow The Green Grass, Smile and Rainy Day Music (the more progressive albums of their earlier alt-country sounds). Anyone wanting to get an overall vibe of the band should get their hands on "Music From The North Country - The Jayhawks Anthology" which has an extensive track list of various songs from their career.

Such a lovely song. From Rainy Day Music
