My friend showed me her new tattoo of something from a videogame yesterday, and the dimensions and lines were just not quite right. And this was a very simple image.
Unless you're paying a reputable artist thousands of dollars for this tattoo, I really don't think you should go through with it--ESPECIALLY with a portrait, which can so, so easily come out devastatingly wrong.
Come to think of it, I don't personally know anyone with a good tattoo. Everyone I can think of who has one has an atrocious piece on them clearly done by a total amateur. It's a lot easier to get screwed than you may expect.
I'm saying this regardless of what you get tattooed, and whether or not you'll hate it in five years.
EDIT: And now that I've reviewed the thread, I see I'm just repeating every post on this page. But that's because they're such important points.
