Yeah but for every REC or Cloverfield you get 50 Poughkeepsie Tapes and Apollo 18's. It fast turned into the "go-to" genre for entry level horror directors because it's a convenient excuse for having a proper budget and talent. Every now and then a decent one slips through like Lake Mungo, but even that was shot more like a 60-Minutes documentary.

Back to your little list though, really the only movie that has me really excited is Prometheus because it's Ridley Scott going back to sci-fi. I'm holding my breath on The Dark Knight because I've been here before with trilogies where the first one was good, the second one was damn near perfect, and the third one just starts feels underwhelming. I'm also curious about the new Pixar movie Brave because it seems it's the first time Pixar is doing a movie where a female is the protagonist.
