Best Coast -
The Only Place
So far it's ok. It just feels so safe...they kind of changed to an alt-country direction on this album. There's sparkly, high quality production and Consentino sounds very Neko Case/Zooey Deschanelish on this album. It's not a bad thing, since I like Neko Case and She & Him, but Best Coast was at their best when they did fun, lo-fi, upbeat pop songs. I miss the Best Coast from their EP's and
Crazy For You. I hope they bring it back soon, because it just isn't the same anymore, and it's a shame because they were one of my favorites.
