Well, I feel kinda like an *******. One of our newer workers has called off just about every weekend, leaving us short-staffed and I usually have to cover her shifts on my off days which is obviously irritating and pisses me off. She has not come in several times without calling and has called off quite a few times, in addition to the preferential scheduling she has received despite being the newest worker we have. Well, turns out she had a good reason for not coming in and wasn't faking sick like I suspected. She went to a specialist and she has a cancerous tumor in her throat. To be fair to myself (and to make myself feel like less of an *******), she really didn't earn my benefit of the doubt. But now I feel kinda ****ty for always claiming she was faking sick.
