I probably would if I spent enough to time in Canada. Visiting once and sewing a foreign flag on my pack isn't something I would do, but if you like a country enough and have enough experience with it, why not? I lived in Singapore for 7 years and proudly hang a Singaporean flag in my house. I probably wouldn't have done that if I had been on vacation there once.
Still...calling it soccer vs. football doesn't seem so extreme. I know it would be the "American" thing to do to call it soccer, but honestly, calling it football makes more sense to me.
