I know that a frequent use of Latin words is an essential requirement to be a pretentious pedant. But bear in mind that they they don't have the same effect when addressing a native
Romance-language speaker, since they often refer to obviously-equivalent common words in such languages.
Decorum (
decoro) and
modicum (
módico or
mínimo) don't impress me, really.
