One of my closest friends is shipping off in the Navy next week, and yesterday we had a going away party for him. In the grand tradition we did acid and went to Dave and Buster's for brews and games, but this time we had a limo. We went all over San Diego from Mount Solidad to the beaches in Del Mar (although it was nighttime, so we couldn't really do much) to all of these bitching dive bars and places that the limo driver recommended to us. As a going away gift for him I bought him a copy of Tom Wolfe's "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" to remind him of what he'll be missing oversees and what'll be waiting for him when he gets back. We went down to Mexico and finished the night with some insane fireworks that helped the LSD along quite a bit.
Quite a sendoff indeed.
