That's how I ween out who really matters and who doesn't.
I get insanely attached to an act and then I just stop. Almost spontaneously. If I eventually make my way back to them, then it was all worth it.
So far, the only artists who I don't listen to regularly anymore are Joni Mitchell and Gregory Douglass, but those are for personal reasons rather than not liking their music anymore.
Current obsession: The Police.
Bands that have survived the obsession phase and proven their worth: Robyn, Madonna, Duran Duran, Janet Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Tears for Fears, Queen, Frank Sinatra.
