I would have NEVER put you down as an EMF fan! In all honesty they got a lot of flack over here for their bouncy Dance music with a little Rock thrown in but I kinda like them for throwaway music and picked up Schubert Dip a month or so ago mainly for the memories. They have reformed recently and come from just a few miles away and are doing a few festivals.

Jesus Jones were sort of similar to EMF but I never really got into them. I hope both of you are fans of Pop Will Eat Itself as they were one of the originals of that Hybrid sound over here and had more humour and better sons
I am biased though for various reasons!
