How do you know if she wasn't in on it, like that guy Jim Carrey played in one of his movies where he had a plant in his audience (not like a household plant) but like someone he knew in on it to take the brunt of the joke & to excerbate a highly tense situtation into a conflict to make the audience feel uncomfortable.

It's beyond the pale.
