Hell man, do I love Primal Fear! Their first album pretty much sucked as it sounded like an uninspired Judas Priest rip-off, but these German power metallers got their act together on their second album and boy does it kick butt. They've taken their Priest and Maiden influences much like HammerFall and made them their own. The album is full of riffs to die for and the gruff vocals of Ralf Scheepers (ex Gamma Ray) are killer deliveries. But what makes this album so special is its feel, here is a German power metal band that instead of sounding like their German contemporaries, have actually adopted the more muscle-bound American power metal sound of the 80s and 90s and infused it with elements of speed and thrash. This is an essentail power metal release readers, avoid it your musical peril.
