I haven't really observed any more hatred or contempt directed at Bon Jovi than at any other similar band. Of course I happen to live in the Bon Jovi Zone so maybe the people around me have a more favorable opinion of them than in other areas.

I don't necessarily look for a band to be ever-evolving, challenging or changing either. The issue with Bon Jovi (and Poison, Def Leppard, etc.) is that they were never very exciting in the first place.
