I don't necessarily look for a band to be ever-evolving, challenging or changing either. The issue with Bon Jovi (and Poison, Def Leppard, etc.) is that they were never very exciting in the first place.
I'm probably the guy this should be directed at. I loathe Bon Jovi. I find them very generic, but as stated most hair bands of the day were using the same formulas. I even like Def Leppard which suffers from the same stale approach. Granted On through the night, High n Dry and Pyromania were all masterpieces of hair spray metal . My girlfriend loves Bon Jovi, so i've heard it all, it just doesn't register with me in the slightest. Yeah my girlfriend has terrible taste in music. Joking Troll, rock on with your New Jersey hairspray metal.
