I worked in the freight game for almost 30 years, dealt with enough trucking companies to know that too many of them will tell you what you want to hear just to get the business. Did you pack it professionally? We were always telling people it can't ship unless it's professionally packed...
Funniest thing (well, not funny at the time but I laughed) ever was when I arranged for a friend and her boyfriend to use our services to ship their house contents to Spain (from Ireland). There was a TV in it --- don't think it was flatscreen or anything, not at that time --- and when it arrived it was damaged.

The bf's name was Jesus, so we got a letter from her saying basically: "The TV is destroyed, and Jesus is hopping mad!" Powerful friends, eh? We all had a good laugh about that. No, we shouldn't have, I know. But we did anyway.
