It's a well known fact that solo albums by artists in bands never sell as many as the bands they come from. If you were to write a list of ones that did it would be a very short list indeed.

OK I got the date wrong but an album going gold almost 2 years after grunge was supposed to have killed hair metal says to me it wasn't quite as dead as people make out.

Because he was pressured into it by the record company, maybe because of the reason I gave you for Vince Neil's album selling poorly. WASP itself disbanded in 1990 and were reformed when that album came out. Between those times Lawless was selling himself as a solo artist.
