Their "crusade" in the eighties to "destroy false metal" had all the hallmarks of a clever promotional tool and a way to hook or sucker in naive metal kids. Their music is ok, don't get me wrong: I have some of their albums. But it's nothing amazing, and the image and attitude they displayed just made me cringe as a metal fan, and want to say this is not how we all think, dress or feel! |
Along with pointing a finger at hair metal, chucking mud at Manowar seems to be a favourite past time of metal elitists, I used to to be one of those before I took metal far less seriously than I used to.
The fact of the matter is, that Manowar are GREAT they're the saviours of metal with their loud and bombastic sound and they have a string of great albums out there to blow your speakers. They're a band I can listen to at anytime, so Mr. Troll go and pick on another metal band
