I expected a hell of a lot more. Now it's not a bad film by any means nor is it a boring one. My attention was kept throughout the whole film due in part by some great acting by Tom Hardy and Guy Peirce, some great music, and of course the setting being in early 20th century America, but having said that the story is nothing special. Nick Cave has had his better screenplays. The whole things was just very cliche to me and in my opinion lazy screenwriting. Oh and if you want to see this one because Gary Oldman is in it, don't. I've held my breath longer than his screen time. It was really strange.
I see it's got a 64% on RT and that's deserved. A well made but ultimately average movie.
