A few more rock drummers who might not have been mentioned yet:

Ringo! - Very underrated - Mr. Fill. It's not always about flash.
Charlie Watts - The Backbone of the Stones stalwart boogie woogie. Keith watches Charlie when they play live to keep time.
Steve Shelley - Again, underrated - keeps even the craziest flights of SY fancy firmly grounded. Not an easy thing to do.
Steve Jansen - has done some incredible work with both Japan and his brother David.
William Rieflin - Great power drummer. Ministry, Revco, Crimson. Mr. Go-to Industrial.
Martin Atkins - For Flowers of Romance alone, not to mention Pigface!
Dave Barbarosa - Bow Wow Wow's Burundi drummer. Where are they now?
Joey Baron - Naked City, Masada, Tzadik house drummer. This guy's level of diversity is off the scale.
Terry Chambers - Terry's contributions to XTC cannot be overestimated. Just listen to something like 'Travels in Nihilon' - incredible combination of power and finesse.
FM Einheit - Pure fearless power. Anything can be a drum kit. Neubauten! Kollapse! Respect must be paid!
Jim Sclavunos/Thomas Wylder - Lumping them together because of all the amazing work they have done in the Bad Seeds and now Grinderman, but they each deserve individual praise.
George Hurley - One of the best and most diverse punk drummers in my opinion. Crucial to the Minutemen's sound.

Just to name a few....
