Mint Condition has been in the industry for over 20 years now and they are an R&B band that writes and composes their own music they dont get any awards. D Angelo experienced some moderate commercial success in the mid 90s but currently he is not mainstream or wins alot of awards. He was one of the most influential artists of the 90s that started the neo soul movement. Sly Family Stone NEVER gets the credit they deserve from the mass industry. Yes, they are legends but they never get their due for what they have done likewise with Funkadelic but then their are bands like The Beatles that are way overrated in comparision. Krs One doesnt get NO credit and he is one of the greatest MCEE's of all time.

Jack White is one of the most talented artists that has came out of the last 15 years and he never gets any credit as a solo artist

An artist can have some moderate commercial success and still be underrated. None of these artists are what I would considered to be mainstream.... they all have not experienced any commercial success in YEARS.
Like I said, we apparently have very different definitions of "underrated". If someone is a legendary, defining artist of their genre and time period, they aren't underrated. If someone is a critically lauded "savior" of their genre, they aren't underrated. If someone is in the rock 'n roll hall of fame, they aren't underrated.
